2022 has been a tough year for all investors. Portfolio losses are heavy across all asset types. As the markets continue to plummet, so does my peace of mind, and I know I am not alone.
I’ve been investing for a few years now and while I am not new to down cycles, they always make me anxious and often lead me to question my strategy and let’s be frank, whether I should be investing at all. My anxiety usually passes as the markets recover and I am once again reassured that down cycles are a normal phase of the market cycle. But going through them is no fun.
In writing this article, it dawned upon me that while I am primarily writing it in the hope that I can give you some peace of mind, I do so too for myself…
